A Gentle First Step into School
Nursery at AHS
Our Nursery (ages 2-3 years) offers a calm, nurturing introduction to school for students aged 2 to 3. At this early stage, the focus is on helping students feel safe, settled, and confident as they begin to explore a new environment.
A Pre-Early Years Programme
Nursery sits just before our Early Years Foundation Stage and provides the foundations for future learning.
Learning is play-based and centred on:
- communication and language
- social and emotional development
- independence and routines
- exploration and creativity
Students learn through play, relationships, and hands-on experiences.
Small Groups, Individual Care
We maintain a small teacher-to-student ratio, allowing for close attention to each student’s needs and development.
Strong relationships and individual support are at the heart of our approach.
Half-Day Programme
Nursery runs 8:00/8:30am – 12:00pm, providing a gentle introduction to school life.
Each morning includes:
- play-based learning
- group activities
- outdoor play
- snack and routine time
Learning Environment
Students learn in a natural, play-based setting with access to:
- indoor and outdoor spaces
- sand and water play
- creative and sensory activities
Building Strong Foundations
Our Nursery supports the development of confidence, communication, and independence, preparing students for a smooth transition into Early Years.
