Empowering Students

HISTORY

Amed Honeycomb School

Amed Honeycomb School is a new school that was set up in 2022 by a group of parents within the Amed community. After home schooling for 3 months, the Yayasan Amed Sentral Eduksi was established as a non-profit organisation to provide quality education to both expatriate and Indonesian students. The purpose-built campus celebrated it’s official opening on 21st September 2022.

OUR VISION

Empowering students to thrive in an ever changing world.

Amed Honeycomb School operates under some key values to bring a rounded education to children in Bali. Classes are offered to both local and international children. We also plan to work closely with the local community and develop education based programmes that support local development.

OUR MISSION

To Inspire Learners To Achieve Their Full Potential

The mission of Amed Honeycomb School is to inspire learners to achieve their full potential as critical thinkers, able to express their creativity, collaborate and solve problems, as well as care for others and the world around them.

AHS LEARNER PROFILE

Life Long Learners

In order to support our vision and mission, AHS has developed a Learner Profile with key attributes to ensure our students become true Life Long Learners.

OUR CAMPUS

Spacious classrooms

Our spacious open-air Joglo classrooms in the Early Years and Primary school allow for flexible learning spaces, as well as easy access to outdoor learning areas. Our buildings have also been constructed from recycled wood, to support our ethos of sustainability and eco-friendly practices.

Our Secondary classroom features both collaborative and individual learning spaces, along with fast wifi access. This classroom can be open-air, with a fan, or use air conditioning if necessary.

Our outdoor play equipment has been designed specifically to develop gross motor skills for the relevant age groups.

Our campus has numerous opportunities for outside learning and physical activities, as well as a teaching swimming pool for our younger students.

Our Teachers

Ms Ruth Kencanawati

I was born in Jakarta and have been living in Bali for 22 years. I love children and have been teaching for more than 10 years. When I was a child I wanted to be a flight attendant so I could travel around the world! But I became a teacher and never regret my decision! In my free time I love to read.

Ms Sarah Chegwyn

I am originally from England, where I qualified as a teacher, but have been living in Indonesia since 1997. I have over 20 years experience as a teacher, Coordinator and Head of Primary, working in both Canggu and Jogja. I am joined here by my youngest daughter who is in Year 5. We are so excited to be living in Amed! At the weekends we love to get in the ocean and enjoy snorkelling and paddle boarding.
