Secondary School
At AHS, our Secondary students follow the British Curriculum and sit the International General Certificate in Secondary Education examinations (IGCSE). As we are a small school, we have partnered with the online International Cambridge accredited school, Wolsey Hall, in order to offer specialised Secondary education.
The Secondary school is comprised of two main Key Stages:
Key Stage 3
Years 7-9 (ages 11-13)
Key Stage 4
Years 10-11 (ages 14-16)
KEY STAGE 3
Blended Learning
Learning in KS3 is through a blended approach where students study in school with a set timetable, which incorporates the core subjects and individual subject choices, as well as PE, Indonesian and PSHE. Core subjects and chosen subject work will be set and moderated by specialist teachers in the UK, while being supported by a member of staff in the classroom at AHS. With this style of learning, we can offer a wide range of subjects which fit the needs of our students, with qualified specialist teachers.
Each child will follow the core subjects of Mathematics, English and Science, and will have the choice of 2 other subjects from the following areas:
This blended style of learning is designed to encourage independence and confidence in students as they move towards taking their IGCSEs.
KEY STAGE 4
